Woke Up With Ear Infection And Hearing Loss?

Woke up today with hearing loss in left ear . Went to the doctor . He said I had an ear infection in the left ear with white powdery material on the eardrum . He put me on the antibiotic zithromax oral. Will the hearing get better and how long does it take . I am 47 and this is my first ear infection . It hummms and thumps at times

Sounds like you had an interesting night…
Sounds like you have had this ear infection for a long time and just didnt realize it. Sometimes this happens and your eardrum could burst and you lose your hearing sometimes but Im not completely sure. You will more than likely get your hearing back when the infection clears up you could just have so much pressure in there. Hope you feel better soon!
