My uncle has been riding the subway as a part of his daily routine for more that 20 years. He’s in his 40s, but we know that something is wrong, especially when we have to call him/repeat something more than once and louder than normal. I’m assuming that this is the main thing that could have contributed to hearing loss (I can’t really think of anything but this). As someone who has recently begun to ride the subway on a daily basis, do you think is there any way to protect my hearing? By the way, I don’t listen to my iPod on the train (because you have to put it up too loud to actually hear it anyway).
