if someone cant pronounce high pitched sounds, is that a sign of sensorineural hearing loss? lets say that the problem is your spinal organ of corti, which organ is defective? and how do you fix it?

i hate wearing my hearing aids. i think in 1st grade i only lost hearing in my left ear but after i tested again this year i lost 50% in both ear! i havent wore my hearing aids in years. is that probaly the reason why my hearing loss got worse? when i wore them once in school this year everything was so LOUD! i couldnt stand it. i couldnt even hear my friend talk to me because of everything else around me.
also is there any way i could get back some of my hearing loss?

I really love acting, in spite of the fact that it is a difficult and cutthroat industry, but I think I have the right kind of temperament for it. I have thick skin, and I’m dedicated to what I love.
I also suffer from a hearing loss, and I’ve been mainstreamed (I’ve gone to a public non-deaf specified school, no deaf/hearing impaired only classes or support groups). I really want to act, but I’m unsure if I will only be able to the special tv episoide as the “deaf girl” (if that, because I don’t know ASL, don’t idenfity w/ deaf culture). I want to do work in this industry becasuse I love it, so how would I overcome typecasting, and be able to do the diffrent roles I want to? (The difficulty of getting a job in the first place put aside). When I say diffrent, I would like to know how I could get non-deaf/hearing impaired character roles, since (obviously) there is more roles under that out there.
Please help, I really am passionate about this, and I want to be an ACTRESS, not just a tv role whenever a girl from a hearing impaired family gets killed on law and order. I’m very serious about this!! I have an appointment set up w/ the ear doctor to see if I can get smaller hearing aids, so that it’ll be less of a obstacle to overcome.
BTW, I suffer from moderatly severe hearing loss, and the damage is in the nerve endings of my ear – meaning that it could only be fixed w/ stem cells.

effective home remedies for sudden sinorineural hearing loss?

I have a friend who suggested my 20 month old niece take glyconutrients to improve her hearing loss she has had since birth. However, I cannot find any articles which has researched this. I am not sure where to go to find out if glyconutrients or glycoprotein supplements do help indeed. Please direct me if you know or have experience with this personally. Thanks in advance.

My right ear has been ringing since last year December, I am worried that one day I would loss hearing. A few month prior to the ringing, I had suddenly loss my hearing on my right ear after a day and half… it’s strange that this time is only the ringing but my hearing is still there.

For example has anyone done studies of opera singers to see if they experience hearing loss? (I guess it would be hard to determine if it was caused from the orchestra or their own voice)

Hello! I’m 17 weeks pregnant and a professional drummer. I will be going on tour for 2 weeks in Europe. So, I will be 18 and 19 weeks pregnant. I am nervous about all the noise from the drums (especially the snare drum that is the drum closest to my stomach) can cause hearing loss for my unborn child.
Tell me your thoughts on this. I will not be playing more than 30 minutes at a time.

I’ve heard that sleep machines our sound conditioners can cause hearing loss due to the constant sound. Is this true?

My 14 yr. son was diagnosed with mono 2 mnths ago ,with the high fever and swollen lymph nodes. We discovered today that he has significant hearing loss in both ears. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
